Quarnford Parish Council is looking for a new Clerk
Quarnford Parish Council is looking for a new Parish Clerk, combining the formal roles of Proper Officer of the Council as well as the Responsible Financial Officer. The job is part-time with duties taking around 8 hours a month, working from home.
Duties will include:
Ensuring that the Council conducts its business lawfully
Attendance at Parish Council meetings, 4 X a year and others as and when required.
Preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes
Implementing the Council’s decisions
Correspondence arising from meetings as well as at other times.
Keeping Parish accounts and other financial matters, including the annual audit.
Promoting the Parish Council through its website and ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date
Although previous experience as a Clerk is not essential, candidates should have good admin skills, including writing formal correspondence and be confident and competent users of the internet, email, spreadsheets and other computer applications including updating the website. An interest in supporting small rural communities is desirable.
A laptop and printer will be provided.
Payment will be according to the NJC (Local Government) scale for Parish Clerks, starting from £9.34 per hour, rising in annual increments to £12.82 per hour depending on experience. The Clerk is an employee of the Council; Clerks may not be self-employed.
